1979 Mercruiser 2.5L 120HP, Delco distributor. After WOT run, engine will not idle down. I have verified that the idle screw returns to to the cam stop. After engine is shut off and restarted, it idles at 700 rpm w/ 8 deg. of timing. Has to be timing advance right? Advance weights are free and I've replaced return springs. Springs should be strong enough to return the weights. Any ideas? Thanks for reading.
