i've moved my moter up down in out and still can't get it to run over 4900rpms shold i try a 17 prop i'm running a 19 now

Dropping down to a 17 should fix it, and get you out of the hole faster.

Jobassing,<br /><br />Sure, timing should be checked.<br /><br />However, I have had a lot of experience with 90 John/Rudes. All the rigs I owned had 13 1/4" X 17" props. They put the RPMS in the 5200 to 5500 range-depending on load. I tried 19's and could not achieve best RPM.<br /><br />If I remember, your rig is a Crestliner. That is not the lightest aluminum boat out there.

as i sit here drinking out of my red green coffe cup it's a 15 foot tide craft fiberglass boat not sure of the wight but it really feels like its draging
