Sticky Throttle Cable

My throttle cable sticks a little. It makes it very annoying when you are trying to dial in that perfect speed. I bought a boat manual on my last repair but it says nothing about how to lubricate. (It tells me it is important to do, but fails to describe how to do it.) I have a Reinell 200 LS with a simple throttle control. Volvo Penta 5.0 GI SX

Any suggestions?

Re: Sticky Throttle Cable

Replace it, if the cable sticks, it's bad.

Re: Sticky Throttle Cable

Perhaps I did not describe my issue clearly. The cable moves quite freely backwards and forwards. The problem is when I am attempting to keep a specific speed going and I need to move the throttle a quarter of an inch or less. Then the throttle does not smoothly move. It catches a little.

What Don is saying is,........ The Cable is a Non-serviceable Part..........

Either,... Live with it,..... Or,.... Replace it.......
