This past weekend we went boating on Ray Hubbard, and after several stupid mishaps and lots of bruising,(ie: physically and Ego). we finally got out and had loads of fun. We ran approximately 10-15 gals out of the tank!!

When I put into forward gear or reverse the pilot seems to be very tight and take alot of effort to work. I know that a manual would be alot of help here( bought a seloc on ebay)but it has not arrived yet, should i attempt to take apart and lube w/ marine grease or might there be another circumstance involved here?

And w/ the dieing Problem could that be L&S problem or fuel ?
When running WOT {29-31MPH}then slow to neutral, motor sounds and acts as if it is dyeing ...so when we put in neutral we had to use warm up lever to idle so it would not die
also when priming(to start), the bulb(New) gets a little stiff and then frees up..... every connection seems tight and clean, What to do?
New fuel pump
20 Galllon Plastic tank (no leaks)
new connections
new glass fuel filter
Carb kits w/ needle retainers
new starter
new water pump (where exactly should the water exit?)
fresh lower unit lube
Remanned Prop (OOPS!)
and I made a cover for the power pack , previous owner claims it was never on and ran fine, but i did not trust the power pack to be open .......

There is a knob on the front of the remote control housing that regulates the friction on the shift mechanism. Try adjusting that and see if it frees up.

If you go into the control box, be aware of the neutral switch on the bow side of the shift cam and the ball and spring detent on the aft side. For a first timer, the ball can get lost and the shift switch can get damaged.

Does the motor idle well after it has warmed up at the dock?
What are the rpms after warm up lever is pushed down?

not to sure on rpms-no tach-, but i have one on the way, but sounds low..
and warm up idle(@ what they call docks around here) seems fast sometimes and then slows down, and the other day i was unloading and the engine died after warm up ,just so happened to be next to a boat mechanic, he said it was flooded, to crank till starts and it did seemed fine for an hour then STORMED AGAIN, so loaded and went home, all this gives me uneasy feelings of being on the water with my family................my manual should be here today....
