stern bracket replacement for '77 Johnson 35hp

hello guys,

Anyone know if this starboard stern bracket from a 95 Johnson part number 0342536 STERN BRACKET, Assy., stbd. would work as a replacement for the starboard stern bracket for a 77 Johnson 35hp, part number 0388039 | STERN BRKT., ASSY., Stbd?

From the microfiche, it looks like it would work, but actually holding one in your hand may be a different story. Thanks in advance. -Jeff

With different part numbers there is probably something different about them.
Like you said, without having them side by side, it's hard to tell. Why don't you just order the correct one?
