I have a 2005 sea pro 180cc and I am about to die to have a stereo in it, i played half of last summer w/o one and cant do it anymore. I'm looking to put a cd player and probably 4 6 1/2" speakers in. My first question is where should i mount my cd player? I really dont want to mount it in the console without any protection due to the moisture that really builds up unde rthe console due to the holes where other wiring is run thru the hull. This being said do I get one of those polyplanar enclosers and mount in on the inside some how (how can I do this? any help is great) or do I mount the box on the top of the console by my depthfinder? this i really would like to prevent doing but it seems to be quite dry here. Also under the back seat where the battery is it seems to stay quite dry, it could be mounted here but I would have to runa wired remote to the console and also seems like it might be a lot of wires to run under the hull. My other major problem is wondering where to put the speakers so that they can be heard all around the boat at cruising speeds (esp behind the console) and places to keep them the driest. Is there a way to mount them in any of the covers that come opening without much modification and also if I were to mount any on the sides or up front how do I get the wires run from the front to the back bc i dont see any places that alread have wires run. I know this should be asked to an electronics professional but i'm looking to install myself and could use all the knowledge that all of you have thanks

Re: stereo installation in 2005 sea pro 180cc

I have a 190 cc. The stereo is in the center console just above the doors in the back. Mine's been in there for a year and a half and moisture hasn't casued a problem yet.
I have two speakers in the console facing outward, and two in the gunwale just behind the bow platform. I can hear it while cruising at full throttle, but it has to be turn all the way up (200 watts) I think you'd hear it better if the console speakers were mounted in the gunwales around where the driver seat is. d:)
