Stereo in lund

would like to add a stereo to my 1700 fisherman and am curious what you folks may have done with your setups. found all the pre wired stuff just need to purchase and install, would like to incorporate my mp3 player in there somehow as well..

Just about anything that you can imagine would work. I've got a Sony CD in mine with Sirius hooked up to the back. I'd make sure it had a digital tuner since most of the electronics on my boat cause a lot of interference to tuning in distant stations.

I take it you guys fish out of your boats, so my question is, do you find that the stereo has a direct effect on your fishing?
In other words, do you think the sound resonating through the aluminum boat has an impact on your ability to catch fish?
I'm a bass fisherman mostly and I've always been told that the music from a stereo system will resonate through the aluminum and scare off fish - and it always made sense to me.

Just curious.

My 01 17 Fish has the radio installed on the side of the glove box, mounted away from the glove box door of course. It takes up a bit of space in there but works good. It has a flip down plastic cover to keep most of the moisture out. My vhf is under the dash on the starboard side.

I would imagine scaring off fish will depend on how loud the radio is. My speakers are mounted low, but the decking, gas tank and any floatation foam is between the bottom of the boat. If I'm pretty serious about fishing for the day, the radio is pretty low anyway.

i just bought a 2000 fisherman also. i want to add a stereo also. i found the wires in the glove box but dont know where they go. any pics of stereo's and speekers installed and where you put them would be nice. wanna rock out to some tunes while doing some fishing....

I have installed a stereo in a 2010 Lund WC14, Sony head unit (Marine grade), Alpine speakers (Marine grade), Shakespeare AM/FM antenna...works like a charm...
