I'm replacing the cassette player(lol) on my 1990 sea ray 180. I know they don't make wiring harnesses so it a splice job. The wire are all labeled for speaker and for remote, I'm just curious as to the red an yellow power wires on my new cd player what are those getting hooked to? There's a red and yellow on the old wiring but I wa reading you put tge red and yellow together or something. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Re: Stereo help?

you need a permanent live for running clock and memory as well as playing when ignition is off.the other has to be a switched +ve.if you don't have a multimeter get a 12v bulb and check with an earth to one terminal and your red or yellow wire to the other .one of them should be switched to make it illuminate and the other on constantly.
