No, I'm not complaining about you young whippersnappers and your 500-decibel music this time...
My wife and I both have some visual challenges that affect our close-in vision, and I need a new stereo for the boat. It's mounted in a low-light area inside the cabin and all the units we look at have tiny buttons, tiny displays and tiny printing. It's a major pain.
I've considered going to a junkyard to see if I can find an OEM car stereo as they generally aren't a problem- simple rotary controls, large buttons... they're much easier to manipulate (I love the unit in my Dodge truck). I don't know, however, if they fit into a standard DIN mounting hole. Does anyone?
Or, does anyone know of an aftermarket unit (auto or marine) that's designed for us old folks? We aren't audiophiles and don't need anything fancy- we just like to listen to music. A simple swap-in receiver with CD is all I'm looking for.
