Yes you can do the tune-up yourself, you may need some tools from HF tools.
No you don't need a mechanic.
You will need a factory service manual, and probably need a little help from this forum to help you with your tuneup.
You shouldn't buy an outboard if your not going to do the maintance and fix it yourself, you need to know your motor and boat.
If you think boating is turn the key go boating, your in for a big disappointment pal.

You changed the impeller, you can do the tune up. Any Force manual has the instructions and what should be changed during scheduled preventive maintenance.

If you don't have a manual and can't find a factory manual, Seloc or Clymers book will work for everyday stuff. If you get stuck, we can help you out.

The 105hp Chrysler had a pack and distributor.
About the only replaceable parts are the plugs.
The timing, if nobody touched it?? Then it probably doesn't need to be adjusted.
You CAN mess up a lot by just looking? If it runs don't mess with it.
Just change the plugs.
E-bay has a factory manual.
Don't confuse the parts books with service manual.
