I have a 94 tiller steer Mariner 25 hp outboard that I inherited from my Dad. When we tried it out the motor ran great but wanted to pull very hard to the left. The pull was significant enough that it would wear your arm out in short order.

I suspected the little trim thing (I don't know what it is called) and sure enough it was loose enough that we could move it by hand. My question is what angle do I set it to now? If I can get it at lease close I can then tweak it.

When facing the prop which way should it point, to the right or left? What is this thing called.
I had trouble finding information on the internet. When I scan for "trim" it was always about "tilt trim"

John that is reffered to the tourqe tab. Usually you would put them in the center to get started, then if you have a problem with thrustturn the tab the same way the motor wants to pull the boat. this doesn't reguire much turning either.

Good Luck
Nick
