Steering question.

I just bought a 97 Dynasty 18'-10" with a 4.3LX and Alpha 1 outdrive. When I cruise at slower speeds, it runs in a zig-zag pattern. Is this normal? This is my first I/O so I am unfamiliar with them and would appreciate your opinions on this.

Pretty much. One thing you might want to check, when it is out of the water, grab the outdrive and see if there is any side to side play. If there is, retorque the two gimbal ring clamping screws (two bolts with nuts on top of gimbal ring) to 55 ft lb, matter of fact should be done once a year anyway.
