Steering queiry

Hi everyone, so I'm at a bit of a loss here and would like some help if possible. I just put a 75hp chrysler outboard on my 70's stingray and looking for input on a way to attach steering cable. If I need to make brackets I can but the cable from the steering isnt made for tilt tube on the motor, it is for ball and detent kind of hook up. I have a ball, could I fab a bracket to mount the ball so it will be accepted into the cable holder? I've attached pic of steering cable end if that helps. Thanks
