Have a 1974 SRV 190. Under normal throttle all is fine once hit about 3500 to 5000 rmp steering gets extremely tight. Almost takes two hands to turn the wheel. Any idea why this would be happening?

Thanks,

Re: Steering Problems

Do you have power steering, most I/O's do? Either way, turn the back of the trim tab (on the cavitation plate) all the way to the right, if your prop rotates clockwise (most boats do).

Re: Steering Problems

If you have power stearing check fluid and if proper fluit level is there bleed system . If it worked befor it show not have anything to do with the new engine.
