I have a 1977 (85hp) Johnson. On each end of the Steering Tube (where the steering arms come out), there is suppose to be a cap or hub of some sort. I guess it's there to hold the tube grease in the tube and keeping it from escaping. The cap or hub looks like it is suppose to screw onto the outside of the tube or the engine mount somehow. After this long drawn out explanation, I only have 2 questions about it. First question, what is the name of the cap or hub? Second, where can I get a pair of these at for a reasonable price? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Steering parts

I have cable steering. I do have the cable nut screw on one end ( I also have put a cable buddy on that end and put some lube in the tube. But, soon after that I noticed the lube seeping out of the other end. The other end only has the rubber stopper on it without the nut seal. Should I replace the rubber stopper or out a nut seal on there or both? Thanks for the help.
