When trailering, is there a way to lock the steering in the center position, rather than laying it to one side. This engine has tilt/trim and console steering. I can lock the motor in the trailering position except can't lock out left/right movement.

Here's what I have done on my Hydrostream and Mirage -- Grt a bungie cord and hook it to something (edge of the seat or lip of dash) then loop it thru the steering wheel and back to anchor point. It's easier to stop the wheel from moving because of the gear ratio in the helm.

Good luck!

Thanks, Dhadley. Makes sense to me, and wouldn't cost much.

I had a message string a few weeks ago about this motor. I still have a question about the tach setup for this motor. The tach (brand unknown) only displays properly at idle when the selector is in the 12pole position. Does this make sense for this motor?

I've fixed some air leaks in the fuel line and am up to 5000rpm at WOT with a 13.25x17 prop on a 18ft vhull Tracker. A little short of where I should be, but I want to eliminate the tach as a possible source of misinformation before working on more rpm.

Yes your tach is set correct. 12 pole is 6 pulse (position 6). However I would strongly recommend an OE tach for accuracy. If you are confident about the accuracy of your existing tach you may want to think about rasing your X dimension to increase RPM. You could decrease pitch but you would lose speed and effeciency.

Good luck!
