Steering issues?

I'm having a problem with my steering. It's very hard to turn to the left but the right is ok. What could be wrong? Any tips on testing cables,motor, steering wheel? It's a 2003 yamaha 130. Thanks

Unhook it at the motor and see where it is, more than likely its time for a new helm and cable.

If that seems OK, you might try adjusting the trim anode on the rear of the AV plate(the fin).

Adjust it in the direction the boat wants to turn if you release the steering wheel. IE: if it wants to turn left, adjust it to the left.

Eventually, you should find the setting that results in neutral steering effort.
