Late last season i had noticed that something was flakeing/disintergrating from under the sterring wheel and would also sound like sand was caught in there somehow. Lookig at a steering parts list the only thing that was close to looking like the black plastic material was a bezel Whats involved in replacing it ?????
is the system likley damaged it's(six years old)
wheel was free with no slop when i put it away last Oct

Re: steering issue

Not enough information to give an intelligent answer. But a wild guess is that the wheel or shaft is rubbing on the bezel? At any rate, the bezel is mainly decorative and it is doubtful that there is any damage to the steering itself. The steering wheel has to be removed in order to replace the bezel. It is easy to damage the shaft when improperly removing the steering wheel which is a tight taper fit.

Re: steering issue

you need a gear puller to remove the wheel, to keep from causing damage.
