I just broke my steering cable on my 1998 18 Hyrdra-sport CC, 115 Evinrude. Its a single-cable control. Is this a replacement job that a novice can handle, or should this be done by a pro?

Thanks

Re: Steering Cable

Easy job. Lot of times you have to remove the engine from the boat to get the cable into the boat. Depends on yours. Get the complete kit. Just a few bucks more. What you got? Rack or rotary style?

Your local marine dealer will carry them for around $150 or you can go to the teleflex web site, take your old one off to make sure of length.
