I have what appears to be a "Seastar Solutions" Rotary steering system, or a real good knock off. It's for a 1976 Wellcraft Nova 250 offshore with a pair of Ford 302's. I'm assuming its an old Teleflex cable because of the T on the end of the cable? Finding a 17ft replacement cable isn't a problem. Finding one that's threaded on the end is. The boats been apart for so long I don't know what the threaded end is for, and or is it necessary?

Thanks in advance

Hard to make a recommendation without knowing for sure what you have.
Seastar Solutions web site details their systems pretty well.
Perhaps with a few photos and a phone call to Seastar they can id what you have and point you to the correct product line.

The seastar say-T QC II cable may be what you need, comes with a headed adaptor.

Worked on my old teleflex.

remember, Sea Star Solutions didnt exist until Teleflex sold off the marine side in 2011. that was the Gauge division sold to VeeThree and the cables and helms were spun off to SeaStar solution.

your 1976 boat would have most likely had a Teleflex marine helm and cables

however the series that was available back then went away and was replaced with at least 2 different styles along the way prior to Teleflex selling the marine business off.

if it was me, I would buy brand new helm and cables
