steering adjustment?

I recently upgrade the steering on my tri-hull to the newer style rack and pinion. It was almost impossible to turn either way, and the old cable would not even budge in the jacket by hand when removed. No it is super smoooth, but as soon as I put any power to the boat and start moving, the wheel wants to whip all the way to the right on its own. I have to hold constant pressure on it or it will go full right. Is there an adjustment that anyone knows of?

Re: steering adjustment?

You should have a tab just above the prop that looks like a fin pointing down.
It is to adjust for steering torque.

Good time to upgrade to the NFB steering. Never use and old cable just junk them and replace it.
