Dear Forum,

I have a 1988 Mercury 90hp outboard, serial # 0B302485. I am getting 7volts between the brown to white/black, 8volts white to white/black and 9volts purple to white/black off of the trigger using a DVA meter. From brown to ground I am getting 2volts, from white to ground 3volts and purple to ground 3volts. These are a little over the 4volt from each wire to the white/black wire and a little over the 1volt recommended from the wires to ground. Looking at my readings would these be acceptable and does it look like my trigger would be ok?

Thanks guys!

Re: Stator Test

Sorry Iceman it took me longer to post to your statement. I just thought the voltages off of the trigger looked a little high?? I was not sure what they should look like. Book says 4+ volts and I just wanted to double check and make sure mine were not too high? Can you tell me if I were ever to replace the trigger how I would go about timing the motor?? Thank you
