Is it possible to check my stators functionallity while its off the motor? If not then besides hooking up my fish finders and checking the volts through that. What is another way to check to see if its charging properly while its running in my driveway? Thanks

Re: Stator question.

The stator can be checked with an ohm meter. Your manual will tell you what the reading should be. You can check to see if its charging by checking the voltage at the battery with the motor off. Then start it and you should see an increase in voltage as rpms approach 2K. When it is not charging its more commonly the rectifier that goes bad. Especially if you ever created a spark or hooked battery up backwards.

Dont worry about it, that 2000 watt stereo needs 166 amps and will blow it up anyway. Also make you the hated enemy of 98 percent of the botater on the water. The other 2 percent probably already blew there ears out and can not hear a thing.
