I have been having a hard time getting my 1991 johnson 225 to start and finally went chasing down problems. What I have found is that there is a spark on 5 and 6 but not 1,2,3and 4. The plugs, wires and coils are all have about 15 hours on them.

I did take the lead (power pack to coil) from a plug with park and move it to a plug that did not and got the plug to spark.

What could make it so a power pack delivered spark to only 2 of six plugs? Is it likely to be to power pack or stator?

Re: stator or power pack

i am not shure on your engine because i have a force 120 which 1@2 were dead. turn out to be the stator, on the force the modular is in the powerpack or switch box;the only thing i would do that would be simple is to disconect the stator wires and take a ohm reading.on the force ohms should be between600-850.on my problem i switch the stator wires on the pack; know 1@2 fired 3@4 were dead.one side of the statoe was bad good luck; if you swap wires make shure you keep colors in the same order
