hi,

I heard about Hi/Lo setup on the stator. what I was tokd that there is a specific way the stator should be installed on the motor. meaning the winding should be place facing a certain place and also even if the wires are the same color they cannot be inverted...

I read my post and it seems confusing to me too lol

hope someone could understand what im saying

thx

Re: stator force 125

Early Force stators are non-directional, that is you position them on the mount so the wires exit in the correct orientation to reach the rectifier and terminal strip on the electronics mount, but that's it.

Late Force engines with Mercury ignitions MAY BE directional. Mercury used the same stator for a number of 2,3,and (I think)4 cylinder Mercury and Force engines. The stator is marked as to which position it should be mounted for a particular engine. I do know that some OMC engines used a Hi-Lo stator with different windings for high RPM and low RPM. As far as I know, no Force engine has used this type stator.

The AC wires simply do not care which AC terminal on the rectifier they are attached to. AC is just that, alternating current, and each wire changes current direction at all frequencies (RPM).

ALL CD box charging wires, no matter which system, must be attached to the correct terminals on the box.

I think the stators from the 87-91 50/85/90/120/125/150 are the same one.
Just different color wires.
They fit better in a certain position due to the length of the wires.
