Has happened to me the last two times i have taken it out. I start it before i leave the house and it fires up perfectly and idle great. But when i take it to the water when i try to start it, if fires, runs for about 30 seconds then dies, right after that it is a pain to get it to start again. It seems that it just doesnt fire.
I figure i flooded it the first time, so pulled it out, pulled the plugs and gave it a few starts with the plugs out to get the fuel out. It seemed to work and started. Then ran perfectly the rest of the day. Second time i took it out, same situation, except i didnt pull the plugs, and just kept on trying to fire.
To me it seems to be flooding because there is alot of gas in the water after i keep on trying to start it. Could it be bad spark plugs, not providing enough spark, or is there something that i could be doing wrong, causing it to flood?
Ps. carbs were rebuilt last year.
