I have a 225 johnson and I was told that water had to be flowing out of upper vent before I could start it. Is this true? I put muffs on for 5 min and water still doesn,t come out vent.
Yes -- but only if you have the muffs over the water intake ports on the lower unit. You'd be surprised how many folks have placed these in the wrong spot and can't imagine why the engine overheated and took out the water pump.
