Starting research for a late season buy

Don't know much about PWC's & my 14 year old son wants one. He's a big kid, about 6' 185lbs.. He rides one of his buddy's every now & then & wants his own. What would be the best one for him? Looking for a used, 2-3 years old. What HP would be best for this weight? What ballpark $$$-wize will I be looking at? Any sellers tricks I should look out for? Tanx for the advise, MAXX

compression test, compression test and again check compression before you buy......If they only have it hooked up to a hose and something doesn't look right ask them to meet you at a local water hole to do a short test drive, with the PO there, he/she will be there when it doesn't run and have to explain what they were trying to sell you.
