3.0LX mercruiser...1991 Chaparral 1800sl

besides having a trim issue, I am having starting issues.

Put the key in ( fully charged battery) and let her rip.

I hear nothing. I have power to everything else.
no clicking nothing. turn the key off, wait a couple seconds, turn the key again and she starts right up.

Let it run and get warmed up, turn it off then turn the key she fired up.

Let her run for a couple mins, turned it off. Turn the key again and nothing. No clicking nothing.

Any ideas of where to start?

P.S

This was last week. So I ordered a starter off amazon.com for 49.99. I bolted it right up to the block/flyheel and turned the key and heard like a loud humming. Almost like the starter teeth were spinning and hitting the flywheel.

Anyone know how many teeth a stock starter for a mercruiser 3.0LX starter has? I will count when I get home But I would like to compare RIGHT NOW to the online visible unit I bought !

Ayuh,... Remove, sand, clean, reinstall, 'n grease, ALL of the starting circuit wiring ends....

Sounds like a corrosion issue...
And,...
Don't forget both ends of the Ground wiring...
