I have yamaha 115 2 stroke engine. Compression is good and also the gas oil mixture - I charged the battery a week or 2 ago and ran for about 3-6 minutes out of water with the hose hooked up. Today took out to lake and could not start. The battery eventually went dead. could it be possible that the battery is not giving the full cranking power enough to turn it over - can a bad battery do that. If so, how can I diagnose the battery.

Thanks

Re: Starting Problems

Take the battery to an auto parts store. Most of them can check for a weak cell. The cost to do so is generally nothing. DuPont
