Last year, prior to winterizging my 2002 SUV, I could not get the dam thing to start. I pulled plugs and they all looked fine. Butm, I found a lot of carbon build-up on the plug wire connections where they attach to the plugs. I cleaned it up, added some gel, and BINGO....started right up.

Has run fine all summer until last week. Could not get to start. Pulled plug wires and found same problem. I cleaned them up with some electrical contact cleaner and cotton swabs as before and BINGO....started right up.

Is this normal?

Seems to be carbobn build-up.

Wondering is my plug wires need replacement or if there is a different issue.

Its a 2002 with 110 hours.

Take your spark plug caps off of the wires and cut the spark plug wires back about 1/2" and re-attach you plug caps, they do not have a good conection. The black carbon residue is the tel tale sign.
