Boat was running fine but water intake manifold was leaking. Replaced manifold, started it up, it ran for about a 2 minutes and then shut itself off and will not start again. Engine is turning over but thats it. Replaced spark plugs and wires to no avail. Does anyone know what my next move should be? By the way, it's a 1987 mercruiser 240hp.

Re: Starting problem

Welcome to Iboats. You'll need to post more info to get a lot of help. Year, model, engine manufacturer, drive type, etc. More is good. More history too. You say boat was running fine, how long ago?

Sounds like possible water in the fuel though.

Re: Starting problem

You posted that it is a 1987 Mercruiser 5.7L (350 CI). You said that you had a leak and replaced the water intake manifold ??? Could you describe this part ? Are you talking about the thermostat housing ??
