starting problem

I have a 1997 sea ray sea rayder 16 ft 175 horse and quit possibly while I was cleaning it with the water hose attached outside my garage with engine idleing just briefly - it quit. gas was way low put 8 gallons in it and now it wont start again. Do you have to prime anything once you let it run out of gas?

Is this an outboard? You may need to pump the ball coming from the gas tank.

if you pump the gas 20 time with key turned on and it should start after that if not disingage the drive but put the gas full forward it will work i have a sea ray with the same problem some times
