Re: starting problem

If it almost starts that is good. means you have everything to make it run. I would check the timming first. roll it over with #1 plug out. when the air pushes your finger out of the hole the piston is comming up on TDC now bump it till the timing mark is at TDC remove dist cap and see if roter is pointing to number 1 If not pull dist and turn till it is. If it was 180 out that was the problem. if it checks out correct you might have the cam lined up wrong.

Ayuh,.... It's the Basics man,... Fuel, Fire, Compression, 'n at the right Time...

You're loosing 1 of 'em,+ only You can see which 1....
You might be 1 tooth off with the distributer,+ the carb might be lackin'...

It might help if ya tell Us exactly What motor this might be Too...

Re: starting problem

do your troubleshooting in this order, it takes time but saves headaches and mistakes.

1. Mechanicals (Compression)
2. Ignition (Double check your firing order, set base timing, you can do that with the plugs out while cranking the engine over)
3. Fuel system. Fuel delivery first, then fuel that feeds the motor 2nd.
