I was recently told that if I start the engine with the out drive tilted up I would be stretching the lower shift cable.
I just had to recently replace it.
When fishing in the shallows I am moving in and out with the out drive tilted up, starting and re-starting in the up position. I been told that is is wrong and that you should always start with the engine with the outdrive in the down position to avoid strectching the shifter cable.
Any comments?
Thanks
