Re: starting and throttle problems
Look at where your throttle cable connects to the side of your carburetor. When you move your control handle in forward or reverse do you get a reciprocal amount of movement at the carburetor lever that links the two? If you don't then your control handle or throttle cable is damaged. If you do then you need to check your fuel delivery system and this starts at your tank with it's embedded pickup tube and screen, then the fuel supply hose that feeds the fuel pump, and ends where it enters the carburetor.
What Bond-o is alluding to is the fact you need to start diagnosing a couple things to provide some more input because at this point you can see it could be a large number of things.
