starting a 92 wave runner out of water??

is there a way to start a 92 yamaha waverunner out of the water with a hose or anything like you can do with a outboard?? i just bought a used ski and would like to start the engine so i can make sure it runs good before i dunk it in the lake<br /> Thanks

You can start it dry. Just don't run it for more than a couple minutes. This is possible, because pwc's don't use water pumps, so there's no reason to worry about damage. Just overheating.

My roomate had one, it was a 2000 model, but it had a inlet under the seat that allowed you to place a small hose in it. You then attached this to the water hose and it pumped the water through the engine to keep it cool.<br /><br />His was located at the back of the seat, close to the batter compartment, on the left hand side of the compartment, when looking at the back of the ski.<br /><br />Hope this helps<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Bryan Cox
