starter wiring on 78 marcruiser v6

anyone know the correct way to attach the white, yellow and red wires to the starter soleniod? This boat had filled up with water to top of starter and rotted the old soleniod off, trying to help a friend. I relly need to know which post does the red 8 gauge wire from the 20 amp breaker attach to. I may be wrong but white was starter soleniod inside post and y
