Starter went out

Last year at the start of the season the solenoid went, So a few weeks i was surprised when it took 2 or turns of the key before it kicked in, but just to make sure I polished the terminals and put a bit on Noalox on each one and ran it awhile and ran a solenoid test, It still was not starting right. Then it went out completely, So this morning I put on a new one I had bought last year and will be taking it back out to the slip tomorrow. It is kicking in now ever key turn. I make it a habit to put Noalox on any electrical connection.
