Are you saying that when you are under way, the starter engages by itself? If so it may be a bad ignition switch or a short in your wiring.

There is an anti rattle spring at the very top but thats to stop it vibrating into mesh ..if its being energised electrically .. start switch ? Solenid fell apart inside ....etc

thanks it sounds like the spring will try that know where to find it cheep ? wife alredy griping about how much im puting in to it
