Starter problems-keeps cranking

My starter on Ford 5.0 OMC hangs up sometimes. <br />The starter drive stays engaged after turning key off of cranking position.<br />Is there a rebuild kit for this? What would need replacing?

probably, try taking it apart and cleaning it and lubracating it. sl

test the solinoid or just replace it. they have a tendancy to weld the contacts together sometimes. its usually caused by poor battery connections or other low voltage condition that encourages arcing. good luck and keep posting
