starter problem

Hi people,<br />Its been a long time since i jumped out a ford solonoid, do we jump out the two big studs, or a big stud with the small stud.<br />I charged the battery all day and the voltage is 12.3 and doesnt change when i try to start my daughters explorer, starter doesnt engage so im thinking starter or the solonoid.<br />Thank David

Big lug to Big lug......By-passes the solenoid......<br /><br />Big lug(+) to the Little lug,..... Activates the solenoid........

Yup,<br />Had to do that to start my 91 F150 for a couple of days. Solenoid died on a holiday weekend, with no parts stores open.<br /><br />AK Chappy
