Thanks 46496. my motor is BF25A #BAJE-1004909 (1996)? Model. Do they make a kit or do you have to order the individual parts for this? Just what would you neeed other than the starter, push switch, and toothed flywheel? Thanks again

That's the main three parts, but there is some additional hardware and wiring.

Yes, I have no idea and you need to check with your local Honda dealer.

46496---Thanks again---I did contact my local Honda dealer, he was set to try it? But American Honda outside Atlanta advised his against it saying it would be cheaper to but a new BF25 with Elec. Start. If this be the case I'm thru with Honda. Appreciate you help and the help of others here. I'm back to where I started.

Re: Starter kit for bf25a

Ed,
Thats not unusual for Honda. I have a 40hp tiller and inquired about a kit to change it to remote. None available although they do carry a kit from remote to tiller. Parts alone were going to cost about 1/3 the cost of a new engine. It just wasn't worth it. I wanted to change boats, but I didn't want to have to leave the engine behind. Not possible.

Nav
