starter bracket for 1959 Johnson 18

Thanks for the input for the 40hp.I found a new starter at my local marine shop.It works great!I have a great running '59 18hp Sea Horse on a '62 Feathercraft 13'.I would like to add a starter.The flywheel already has a starter ring on it.Any input greatly appreciated.Thanks again.

You can probably find what you need on eBay or from the old parts vendors mentioned here. Check if the bracket is the same as the 35/40 hp engines.<br /> <br />Make sure you have a good wiring schematic (Clymer 1956-1972 J/E manual has an excellent set) before trying to do the wiring.
