Morning All,
Another lovely rainy day here in Ontario, sales of pumps right about now should be thru the roof! My question is, was 1972 the only year for the Jupiter ? I think the tag reads 976916, she is a 16' outboard with black stripes and a reddish brown colour. The top is white with a chrome bow rail.If the sun ever reappears this summer I will post a picture.
Cheers Mike

Thanks for your interest, lord knows we need all hand on deck here! Attached is a photo with the trailer I just got.Lots of work ahead, did Starcraft ever publish on line the serial numbers to date these boats ?Or were the numbers not connected to a specific year?

Re: Starcraft Jupiter

Mike, between the bunch of us here I think we came to the conclusion the serial number wasn't attached to a specific year. I don't have a clue what went on from around 69 or 70 on but the general way of identifying in the 60's is specific measurements, ie transome height, width, length, hull type (deep vee, semi vee) and color since in the 60's Starcraft only did one color combination per specific model each year.

I'm not so sure that color is stock. What color are the inside side panels? Are they covered in vinyl? That Jetson stern light is worth a couple dollars if it's in good shape and I beleive were more prevailant in the 60's. I can't see from the pictures, but is the starcraft logo on the side the vinyl one with the arrow thru it? Your hull is the concave vee.

Don't you have a title for the boat? There will be some other folks chiming in here eventually who know a tad more about the 70's models, I'm sure.

Anyhow, looks like another example of a good boat. What are your plans for this one?

Re: Starcraft Jupiter

The floor carpet is white as are the side panels, sort of a padded vinyl with a wood grain dash. The seller is getting me the title soon,I hope. The steering wheel say,s Starcraft on it,at the rear top of transom it is 69" wide.I want to keep it original just replace the worn carpet. The seats are white with red square patterns on them, the top is in good shape the zippers were just replaced.Too bad there is not a Starcraft boat meet in Haliburton area where the boat is.The Starcraft rear side logo,s are rectangular plastic panels. Thanks for the interest and help, think the paint is original.
Cheers Mike

Uxboat:

Jupiters were made in the 1960s and 1970s. I have a 1962 Jupiter that I am restoring

My emblems were originally plastic but they were cracked and missing parts. I got the new ones on eBay. Just search "starcraft decals".

Re: Starcraft Jupiter

i know this has been inactive for a few weeks, but I would say the OP's is circa 1972 ish, based on the windshield design and the fact that the starcract logo seems to be a sticker rather than a plastic emblem...

Uxboat,

Yours is the only other Starcraft I've seen in that color. Mine is a Jet Star from 1964, no black stripe. But I can see from the scratches that mine has been repainted from the original red/white. Coincidence? What are the chances?

Evening Lakelover,
Thinking now North Beach is correct and long ago my Jupiter was repainted, the seats are white with red inserts. If I look real carefully it looks like over spray on some trim while the seats seem original it would be a tough call. Was just today pricing new seats for boat, lots of work and costs ahead carpet is like plastic and is wore thru.Main thing is hull is tight as a drum still, hard to believe after all these years.Would like to fill the empty dash hole with heat guage and tach, voltmeter is in now.Think I like your curved windshield better ,looks sporty.

UX Jupiters were made as was said all through the 60's and 70's . Mine is a 70 and judging by your windshield yours is somewhere after 68 as thats when they switched over to the flatter type windshield EZ's came with the older style windshield originally and if you look at his thread here in this forum theres a picture of it before he put that sweet new one on it :D.

62 Jupiter welcome to iboats feel free to post pics of your 62 as we love pictures around here .
