I have a Starcraft Runabout that predates the HIN. The dimensions - best I can gather them due to impediments are:

Center Length - 15' 7"
Gunwale - 16' 1/4"
Beam 70"
Transom width 64' 1/2"
Transom depth 21"

This boat has been made into a fishing boat and only resembles it's former runabout status on the outside which is now painted camo. It's not a candidate for restore as I like it like it is. :joyous:

It currently has a 1997 50 HP Evinrude and seems a tad under powered. I'd like to pick it up to a 60 or 70 HP. Most of the brochures have boats that are similar but not exactly the same. Most of these - but not all - say up to 70/75 HP is ok.

Any ideas? The transom is reinforced with road signs done very well. No worries there. I daresay much stronger than from the factory. The boat is in overall excellent shape.

There is no hull plate. The registration says 1956 Starcraft. I don't believe this is the case because looking at the 1958 brochure I see none like my boat which highly resembles the 1966 Starcraft Nassau.

Any ideas?

Re: Starcraft Identification

Welcome back to iboats.

Photos would help.
Original paint color ?
Aluminum or glass?
Number of nee braces at the base of the transom?
Type and style of windshield?
Seating type?

THere are a lot of Starcraft brochures here:

Many have a spec page with the measurements listed.

Also, try the Starcraft forum for more info.

Hi Roscoe - thanks for the welcome. I've been looking through the brochures and can't find anything that matches exactly - so far.

I will post some photos. This has been turned into a fishing boat extraordinaire.

The original color appears to be white sides and ugly green bottom.

It's aluminum with only one original knee brace and two additional knee braces added, not replaced.

No windshield or original seating.
