have started to tear out of the old rotton wood. stuck at transom. what is the best way to replace it. rotton wood. where is place to get foam for bottom just looks like pieces so are bad. thank you dan bateman southern ohio

for the flooring you will have to drill out the pop rivets.
just drill the tops of the rivets and the flooring will pull off.
be carefull with the drill along the sides, not much room to the bottom.
use cabinet grade or exterior grade ply.
i used exterior 1/2".

Go to the restoration forums under the boating forums tab at the top of this page and browse thru some of the other restorations that have been done. Ask your questions there and many folks will jump in with opinions.

You can also check out my build thread there on my 66 sunchief. All the flooring issues will be the same. I'm not doing my transom, so you'll have to ask your own questions there.

Home Depot and Lowes sells the board stock EPS insulation you need for flotation.
