On level ground, there is still about 2-3in of water, that the bilge pump can't get to, when I am done on the water for the day. Mainly in the ski storage area, in the middle of the boat. Can someone recommend the best way to remove standing water, and all the debris, that accumulates under the engine, around the Bilge Pump. Thanks

Do you have a trailer jack? By moving the trailer jack either up or down you can get the water to move to one end or the other.

As to the other debris...it depends on what that debris is.

Just dirt, leaves, anything that could come in from the water. Assuming I can get the water to the back of the boat, it is still to low for the bilge pump to get it, should there be a drain or something, I am missing?

There is a drain at the very bottom of your transom (back of the boat). It should be removed as soon you leave the launch ramp. If you trailer the boat to from the lake and there are any hills it should be almost empty by the time you get home. I have a carpeted ski locker so it can drip for a while. I just leave the ski locker door open to help it dry out and I leave the bow jacked up so anything left over can drain out.

BTW, now that you have found your drain plug, you should head over to the Stupid Human Tricks section for some tips about remembering to put the plug back in . . . ;) :D

a great way to remove water when bilge pump won't get it is a wet/dry vac. I have a 2 gallon one that is perfect for those spots, will suck it dry.

On my boat there is a hole in the aft wall of the storage bin in the belly of the boat that will drain into the bilge area in the engine compartment. Make sure that this hole is not plugged up...
