stalls in holeshot under load

I am new to boating and was wondering about the question above. The motor is a 79 115 merc. on a 17' deep v. When not pulling there is no hesitation and launches like a rocket. I tried playing with the trim and made no cerrection to the problem. Any I DE EARS!!!

Does the motor actually stall (quit running) or is it just taking its time getting up to speed?

sounds like fuel starvation to me. You might want to post this question over in this forum as you would be more likely to attract more Merc O/B mechanicos.
