2000 60hp 4stroke...Having issues with the fuel.replaced low pressure fuel pump and cleaned the VST tank and made sure the high pressure fuel pump was working. The boat runs fine but runs out of fuel have to pump the ball to keep it running it will run for 2 or 3 minutes. It has full power and runs at low and high speeds for a minute or two.fuel flows freely through the motor

Also last year had serious amount of water in the oil so I did the head gasket and that's all that problem no water in the oil now. I'm able to run the motor for as long as I want as long as I pump fuel into it. Started to have issues last year but I thought it was due to water in the oil a lot of water.

need to monitor the lift pump to see if it runs as it should or maybe sucking air and cannot keep up

not sure, but maybe recirculation valve letting too much by

Thanks for the reply.if it was sucking air wouldn't that affect the engine performance? The motor has full power and runs smoothly. It starts and idles perfect. Is the lift pump the same thing as the low pressure fuel pump?I will do some more looking for air leaking.i have tried to disconnect some of the air lines while running and it kills the motor.

Okay so here's where I'm at. I solved the fuel problem turns out I never installed the low pressure fuel pump rod. Found it installed it and now my motor will not run. I read in the manual that the number one cylinder has to be at top dead center to install pump I believe I installed it on top dead center. Confused I took out the number one spark plug. I turned the motor over and it runs without the spark plug in. If I put the spark plug back in it will not start. Out of curiosity I pulled the number four plug and put the number one plug back in in the motor ran again without the number four plug-in. Put the plug back in motor will not run. I am wondering if it's possible to be 180° out of timing. I did replace the head gaskets and all top end gaskets and spring. As stated in my earlier post the motor ran fine just ran out of gas. I thought I had it figured out with the small rod missing on the low pressure pump but after I installed it I ran into this issue. I'm not sure what to think about it any help would be good

why does it not start with all plugs in place?
no spark, motor will not spin over, or something else
